Once you have registered for the conference, you need to begin planning your travel to the celebration of Latino children's literature, literacy, and cultures. The information below provides driving directions, lodging suggestions, and parking tips.

Airport & Transportation Information
Tuscaloosa's airport is for private planes only. The Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) will be the airport that attendees will fly into. Lodging - Conference Hotels
The only hotel within walking distance of the conference is Hotel Capstone. Other hotels are a very short drive. Please note that Fairfield is the only hotel with the Friday night conference rate. Many other hotels are sold-out Friday night for a sporting event.
The Hampton Inn- University is ideally located approximately 2 miles from the University of Alabama's Gorgas Library which houses the National Latino Children's Literature Conference. Amenities include free wireless internet access, free breakfast, and warm cookies in the afternoon. We have negotiated a nightly rate of $105 for Wednesday and Thursday. Shuttles run frequently from most student parking spaces to Gorgas Library (location of conference). Permits will be mailed to the attendee's address listed on the registration form. We will not be responsible for lost parking permits. Attendees can also use parking decks which are $5 per day.
